Biden’s Drastic Travel Ban Decision
This administration doesn’t know what it’s doing.
Not too long ago, President Biden and his administration decided to enforce a travel ban on eight African countries after word of the omicron variant quickly made headlines.
President Biden received backlash for his decision and was called racist for banning only predominately black nations.
Now, it appears that President Biden is reversing course yet again and wants to lift those travel bans on December 31st.
According to Fox, Biden will be lifting travel bans on South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique and Malawi.
Furthermore, a senior Biden Administration official stated, “At the time these restrictions were put in place, it was clear that there was widespread community transmission in South Africa, as well as a great deal of cross-border travel in the region and little surveillance in many of the countries near South Africa. We will lift these restrictions effective Friday, December 31 at 12:01 AM.”
Biden Administration further explained that they are lifting these restrictions because scientists now have enough information about the variant and it has spread so much in the U.S. already that travel bans won’t make a difference.
