Biden To Give Relief Money In 2022?

Here’s what we know…

As the omicron variant continues to tear through the United States; Democrats, industry groups and more are demanding for President Biden to start giving additional relief money to small businesses so they can make ends meet.

According to Fox Business, just last month, Reps. Dean Phillips, D-Minn., Earl Blumenauer, D-Ore., and others wrote a letter asking Congress to provide additional money to businesses that could be negatively affected by the omicron variant through the Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF) which ran out of money last fall.

“While the U.S. economy continues to grow, the recovery has been uneven, and the negative effects of the rapid spread of new COVID-19 variants disproportionately impact businesses which rely upon in-person gathering to survive, including the restaurant, hospitality, fitness, live events, and travel industries,” the letter stated.

“We… call on House and Senate leadership to expedite a targeted relief package that funds all previously eligible requests through the RRF and allows small businesses in the fitness, live events, and travel industries to request much-needed federal assistance,” the letter added.

So, will Congress and President Biden begin to give out more money to small business to supplement their financial losses to omicron? It’s still too soon to tell.
