Biden Sues Red State

President Biden and the U.S. Department of Justice has just decided to file a lawsuit against the state of Texas after they drew new congressional and state legislature maps.
According to Fox News, Biden and the DOJ are claiming that Texas lawmakers are now violating federal Voting Rights Act by shifting the voting strength of minorities in the state of Texas.
Attorney General Merrick Garland recently stated, “The department’s career voting law experts have assessed Texas’s new redistricting plans and determined that they include districts that violate the Voting Rights Act.”
Associate Attorney General Vanita Gupta stated, “This is not the first time that Texas has acted to minimize the voting rights of its minority citizens. Decade after decade, courts have found that Texas has enacted redistricting plans that deliberately dilute the voting strength of Latino and Black voters and that violate the Voting Rights Act.”
