A new bombshell revelation has just surfaced about President Biden’s Build Back Better plan and it endangers one of America’s most dependent demographic. The elderly.
According to Fox Business, The American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL), which is the largest nursing home association in America with 14,000 facilities, says Biden’s social spending plan will force thousands of their facilities to turn away desperate senior citizens and close their doors for good.
One of the new policies in Biden’s plan would require a registered nurse (RN) to be on hand at all times is something that, due to the current labor shortage, would make impossible.
AHCA/NCAL President and CEO Mark Parkinson said, “We strongly support having an RN on staff in nursing homes 24-hours a day, as we originally proposed in our reform agenda earlier this year. However, current data shows that the nursing homes are facing the worst job loss among all health care providers.”
Since the pandemic began, nursing homes have lost 221,000 jobs. It would cost these nursing homes an additional $2.5 billion a year to accomplish this, which they don’t have.
Another new Policy in Biden’s Build Back Better plan will require the nursing home to hire an additional 150,000 new caregivers to fix staffing issues which they would not be able to fund as well.
If Biden doesn’t address these issues it could severally impact senior citizens who rely on nursing homes in the worst possible way. Currently, the White House has not addressed these very important concerns.
