Biden Threat To Oil And Gas Industry
Biden is playing politics again.
President Biden is now warning American oil companies to not raise gas prices in fears of Hurricane Ian hitting Florida.
According to Breitbart, Biden sternly said to the oil and gas industries, “Do not. Let me repeat. Do not. Do not use this as an excuse to raise gasoline prices or gouge the American people.”
Biden then explained how the price of oil “remained relatively low” and there was absolutely no reason for the price of oil and gas to go up whatsoever. Biden made these comments even though big oil companies evacuated offshore oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico because of the storm.
Up to 11% of U.S. oil production is expected to be shut down in the Gulf of Mexico because of the storm however Biden is still threatening oil companies to not raise prices.
“This small temporary storm impact on oil production provides no excuse. No excuse for price increases at the pump. None,” Biden insisted.
“If gas companies try to use this storm to raise prices at the pump I will ask officials to look into whether price gouging is going on,” later said.
