Biden’s decision to lift this ban will be a relief for one major industry.
President Biden is now deciding to lift a ban placed during the pandemic by former President Donald Trump which banned international visitors from entering the U.S. due to fear of more covid-19 spread.
According to CNBC, Biden is expected to lift the ban on November 8th and major airlines are relieved that the ban is being lifted because they believe it will increase travel and result in more profits for their businesses.
However, the ban will not allow just anyone to visit, if foreign travelers want to come to the United States they will still have to be vaccinated and for those who aren’t, the ban is still in place.
″We welcome the Biden administration’s science-based approach to begin lifting the restrictions on travel to the U.S. that were put into place at the start of the pandemic,” American Airlines CEO Doug Parker said in a statement.
