Biden Responsible For Airlines Catastrophe?
Is it truly Biden’s fault?
While he did not call out President Biden by name, Delta CEO Ed Bastian did suggest that lawmakers played a major role in the recent issue which caused nearly every plane in the United States to be grounded for several hours and said that it was due to a lack of funding.
According to the Washington Examiner, the outage on Wednesday forced over 10,000 flights to be grounded for a short period of time which caused the FAA to be heavily criticized by the American public and even President Biden.
In a new interview with CNBC, Bastian took the blame off of the FAA and said that lawmakers in Washington played a bigger role in the nationwide airlines outage.
Bastian explained, “It was a difficult day on Wednesday for our customers as well as our own employees. And candidly, it’s unacceptable. I don’t recall us ever shutting down the national air space due to a similar type of technology outage for several hours.”
“is not the FAA’s fault,” he said.
Bastian went on to say, “I lay this on the fact that we are not giving them the resources, the funding, the staffing, the tools, the technology they need. Hopefully, this will be the call to our political leaders in Washington that we need to do better.”
