States With Highest And Lowest Gas Fees
While we all know gas prices are shockingly high right now, residents of some states are paying more than others in costs such as federal, state, and local taxes and fees.
According to Fox, These taxes and fees can vary dramatically depending on where you are in the United States.
Fox further explained that the nationwide average tax on gasoline which includes costs such as federal excise tax, the states’ excise and more comes to 57.09 cents per gallon.
California was found to be paying the highest in gas fees paying an astounding 86.55 cents per gallon.
Then coming in after California are Illinois, Pennsylvania and Hawaii whose residents pay 70 cents per gallon in fees.
The state that pays the absolute least in gas fees is the great state of Alaska who pays a shockingly low price of just 33.53 cents per gallon.
