Americans Starving Under Democrats
This is not good.
With the COVID-era food stamp benefits, also known as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), coming to an end for millions of Americans, food banks across America are in a panic about the working-class families who will soon depend on them to eat.
According to Fox, Northern Illinois Food Bank president Julie Yurko sounded the alarm and said, “We serve the suburbs of Chicago and a majority of our families are working families. They are struggling to make ends meet.”
This is all happening now because in 2020, Congress decided to temporarily raise SNAP benefits by $90 to $250 per household depending on each families individual needs.
Congress then decided to put an expiration date on the SNAP benefits and President Biden announced that it would soon come to and end last month.
Some states decided to end emergency allotment early while other states decided to keep it going until the federal government and President Biden decided to step in.
States such as California, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and 24 others decided to keep it going and millions of Americans received additional SNAP benefits.
Now food banks are expected the absolute worst when these benefits officially come to an end.
Yurko added, “It is crazy. Food inflation, over 10% for more than a year. We expect it to continue. And we know that the families we’re serving right now are hurting because of that.”
The worst issue about all of this is that the inflation caused by President Biden on food items will put Americans who were already on SNAP in a much tougher position than before they were on SNAP benefits.
