Americans In Transportation Industry Jobless
This could spell trouble for many people.
In the name of progress, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that his company is pushing to have it’s self-driving technology officially ready and widely available by the end of 2022.
According to Fox, during a recent speech in Norway, Musk told the audience that his company is aiming to remove human drivers from vehicles and is aiming to have a wide release in Europe and the United States soon however and exact timeline was not given.
Tesla’s current Full Self-Driving package costs an additional $15,000 to add to their vehicles. Their new updated version is going to allow vehicles to drive completely on their own without the need of a human driver at all.
If successful this could mean a big change coming to everyone who works in the transportation industry.
Musk then said having a fully autonomous vehicle can help owners of his vehicles earn money by transporting others around when the vehicle is not being used.
“A lot of cars are in parking lots, so we’re spending money, not just driving the cars but storing them all over the place. We can get rid of a lot of parking lots if you have a car that is operating all the time,” Musk added.
