America Prepares For Strike, Economy In Trouble
This is about to get ugly folks.
It has just been learned that Amtrak has canceled a portion of their long distance routes to prepare for the upcoming freight railroad strike which is strongly looking like will happen.
President Biden and the Biden Administration has failed to stop the strike from happening even after meeting with the workers unions. If this strike happens more than 30% of America’s supply chain will be shut down.
According to Fox Business, a spokesperson for Amtrak explained that the company is hoping that U.S. railroads and rail unions will reach a compromise before the strike actually happens on September 16th. However, Amtrak has already “begun phased adjustments” incase the strike does happen.
While Amtrak itself has nothing to do with the potential railroad strike, it will still cause serious problems for everything that is railroad related such as their business.
The spokesperson explained, “Such an interruption could significantly impact intercity passenger rail service, as Amtrak operates almost all of our 21,000 route miles outside the Northeast Corridor (NEC) on track owned, maintained, and dispatched by freight railroads.”
So far Amtrak has canceled its California Zephyr and Empire Builder lines which run from Chicago to the West Coast and they will also cancel their City of New Orleans, Starlight and Texas Eagle lines as well.
