Alert: Stop Doing Your Laundry
This is not good.
In a shocking new discovery that has many Americans very concerned, Samsung U.S. has just issued a massive recall for hundreds of thousands of top-load washing machines due to a potential fire hazard.
According to Fox, more than 663,500 top-load washing machines with super speed wash are now being recalled because they “can short-circuit and overheat, posing a fire hazard.”
Washing machines affected range from the WA49B, WA50B, WA51A, WA52A, WA54A, and WA55A model series which are sold in 4 different colors.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is urging Americans who have these washing machines to see if the machines received a software update to fix the problem. Americans who own these machines should “immediately stop” using them to prevent a house fire until the machines have been updated.
Owners of these washing machines can find the model and serial numbers of these machines on either the label inside of the top lid or on the back of the machine.
“Consumers whose washer does not have Wi-Fi capability or who otherwise wish to receive a free software repair without connecting to the internet should immediately stop using the washer and contact Samsung directly for a free dongle to plug in and download the free software repair,” the CPSC added.
