The current national average for gas is sitting at $4.17 per gallon, however millions of Americans are paying a whole lot more.
Here are the five states with the highest gas prices thanks to The Hill:
California – California currently has the highest gas prices with a state average of $5.83.
Hawaii – Coming in second is Hawaii with a state average of $5.22.
Nevada – Third comes Nevada with an average of $5.17 per gallon.
Alaska – Alaska currently stand in fourth place with an average of $4.71 for a gallon of gas.
Washington – and last comes Washington with a state average of $4.70.
