Democrats Cause Energy Crisis
Welcome to Biden’s America! It has now been learned that thousands of utility company customers in Colorado were forcibly locked out of their own thermostats at home during an “energy emergency” which was happening at the time.
According to Fox Business, Xcel Energy admitted to media sources that 22,000 customers in Denver were locked out of their thermostats for several hours and were forced to sit in high temperatures.
One customer, Tony Talarico, explained how he tried to change his thermostat because it was 90 degrees in his home and was greeted with his message on his smart thermostat staying that there was an “energy emergency” and he couldn’t change the temperature of his own home.
“Normally, when we see a message like that, we’re able to override it,” Talarico stated. “In this case, we weren’t. So, our thermostat was locked in at 78 or 79.”
Many Americans explained on social media how they were stuck in temperatures as high as 88 to 90 degrees.
Xcel Energy then explained to news outlets that many of the customers were part of rewards program that gave them a discount which gave the energy companies permission to control their thermostats.
Vice president of customer solutions explained, “It’s a voluntary program. Let’s remember that this is something that customers choose to be a part of based on the incentives.”
“So, it helps everybody for people to participate in these programs. It is a bit uncomfortable for a short period of time, but it’s very, very helpful,” the vice president added.
