U.S. Economy Improves, Do You Thank Biden?
McConnell and Schumer Join Forces
It now appears that Democrat Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is now joining forces with Republican Minority Leader Mitch McConnell to reach a deal on a yearlong government funding bill with hopes to pass it before the next Congress session begins.
According to transcript provided by Fox, Schumer explained that negotiations between him and McConnell were currently ongoing and hopes to reach a deal.
Schumer stated, “Leader McConnell and I have agreed to try and work together to make sure we get a yearlong funding bill done. We hope it can be done this year, and we know that each side is going to have to give in order to send an omnibus to the president’s desk, and, of course, it needs 60 votes.”
Both sides are now considering a number of financial agreements including their plan to continue funding Ukraine along with codifying same-sex marriage.
Congress has until December 16th to reach an agreement on the government funding bill or else they face a partial federal shutdown.
