Biden Passes Student Loan Forgivness?
Here’s what happened…
President Biden and the Democrats sparked immense outrage from Republican lawmakers after Biden once again extended the pause on federal student loan payments just before they were expected to start back up again.
According to the Washington Examiner, President Joe Biden said that the pause on student loan payments would be extended to June 2023. Biden and the Democrats are currently in a tough legal battle trying to wipe away anywhere from $10,000 to $20,000 in debt for student loan holders.
Republican and House Education and Labor Committee ranking member Virginia Foxx lashed out at President Biden for extending the loan and said it was “disgraceful” of him to so brazenly extend the pause.
Foxx blasted the Democrats and said, “Since taking office, this administration has done everything in its power to run the federal student loan program into the ground. This may appease radical members of his party and left-wing advocacy groups on Twitter, but this disgraceful inaction by our commander in chief will have real, harmful repercussions for Americans.”
She then accused Biden of using student loan holders as pawns for the Democrats. Foxx said, “This is not the kind of policy taxpayers ordered, but it’s all that’s on the menu for the Biden administration. We need sane, fiscally responsible policies — not the haphazard decisions being served up by this White House.”
